The Ghana Youth Videography Programme
Funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada (SSHRC Insight Development Grant), the Ghana Youth Videography Programme is an intensive educational experience under which youth aged 18-35 produce short documentaries on climate change in Ghana for the United Nations.
A compilation of 12 films created by the Ghanaian youth participants was premiered in Ghana on October 14, 2022, at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), to a VIP audience of government officials, corporate heads and NGO leaders.
In 2023, our project created 11 documentary shorts on climate impacts and research in southern Ghana and six films on the impacts of climate change on the disabled in northern Ghana.
The two compilation films for 2023 have been created as part of the United Nations Youth Climate Report and will be screened in the Blue Zone of the upcoming United Nations COP28 Conference in Dubai in November and December, 2023.
